Sticks and #stones may break my bones, but your #water could never hurt me. || At the #heartofmyanmar, where the #IrrawaddyRiver (the lifeline of #Myanmar) begins after two sisters have joined to form it. There are various pebbles piled like this one along the shore. I’m uncertain if Myanmar’s #Buddhist thinks similarly, but the meaning I know is to help children who have died and been punished (for dying before their parents) to pile stones for eternity. #travel #Myitkyina #KachinState

Tale as old as #time. || An interesting #clock at the Reception of the #PalmSpringResort in #Myitkyina, #KachinState, #Myanmar. Thankfully, the #tusks aren’t real. #travel
“Wide #roads and empty #museums.” This was the description my boss gave me after telling me I could spend the night on my first trip to #Myanmar’s new capital, #NayPyiTaw. A government city, hence not much tourist sights, but then again, where else do you get to see a #20lanehighway and have the #nationalmuseum pretty much all to yourself? (P.S. Despite being called the “20-lane highway”, I only counted 14 lanes though? 🧐) #travel

#Buddha’s back. || 1,126 smaller Buddha figures make up this unique Buddha that was constructed 2,000 years ago. #LawkanandaPagoda #Sittwe #RakhineState #Myanmar #travel
